Spokane Journal of Business  July 31, 2014  The article, “Amy Doneen: Curbing cardiac events” by Judith Spitzer,  does an excellent job of discussing how the Bale/Doneen Method places emphasis on early detection. The article also shares Amy’s journey in nursing that lead to her current position as Medical Director of the Heart Attack and Stroke Prevention Center.

Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing  Spring 2014  The journal article, “8-Year Outcomes of a Program for Early Prevention of Cardiovascular Events: A Growth-Curve Analysis,” by Bradley Bale, MD, and Amy Doneen, MSN, ARNP, along with other authors, covers recent research undertaken to evaluate the effect of the Bale/Doneen Method on lipoproteins and carotid intima-media thickness (IMT) for cardiovascular disease prevention and reduction. Findings suggest that the Bale/Doneen Method is effective in generating a positive effect on the atherosclerotic disease process by achieving regression of disease in the carotid arteries. Clinical & Experimental Cardiology – April 5, 2014  The manuscript,  “A Guarantee of Arterial Wellness: New Era of Cardiovascular Medicine,” by Bradley Bale, MD and Amy Doneen, MSN, ARNP was published in the Journal of Clinical & Experimental Cardiology in April 2014. This landmark publication is the first of its kind, suggesting that clinicians step up and stand behind their work.

Spokesman Review – February 4, 2014 The Health section of the February 2, Spokesman Review featured Amy Doneen and The HASPC in an article called “A Brush with Danger.” The article discusses studies that have linked gum disease to cardiovascular disease, putting people at higher risk of diabetes, heart attack and stroke. Also highlighted in the article is HASPC patient, periodontist Lauralee Nygaard, who learned that her own gum health may have helped lead to a stroke at age 37.

Natural Solutions   February 1, 2014 On February 1, the Natural Solutions website featured an article, “Knowledge is Power: 6 Heart Attack Warning Signs Women Often Ignore,” by Bradley Bale, MD, Amy Doneen, ARNP, and Lisa Collier Cool. The article discusses why women’s heart attacks are often missed by the woman having the attack, by their family and friends, and even by the medical community. The article also shares six early warning signs of heart attack in women and why women are so often misdiagnosed.

Spry Living – February 1, 2014  The Spry Living website featured an article written by Amy Doneen, ARNP and Bradley Bale, MD. The article, “Why Healthy People Have Heart Attacks,” discusses how it’s possible for someone with a clean bill of cardiac health end to up in the ER clutching his or her chest. The article offers insights into what really causes heart disease and why standard risk assessments routinely miss crucial warning signs.

The article covers the comprehensive preventative protocol for assessing heart attack risk as practiced by The HASPC.  The article also stresses the many reasons why this approach is preferred over the current standard of care which focuses on patient “rescue” after a heart attack occurs.

Spokesman Review Newspaper – April 28, 2013 The HASPC received prominent coverage in the Spokesman Review Live Well publication on April 28. The article, by health reporter Julie Humphreys, is titled “Heart Attack and Stroke Prevention Center Aims to Help 100 Patients in 2013: Spokane Clinic Looks at Factors in Innovative Ways” and stresses the focus The HASPC places on preventative IMT testing and the benefits of IMT evaluation.
